The Getting Old Christmas List

You know you have aged when your Christmas wish list is no longer toys.  My Mom and Meme asked what I wanted- here is what they were told (in preferential order)

1.  A new closet (doors, organizor- the whole nine yards!)
2.  A new front door
3.  Fabric to recover my dining room chairs
4.  A rug to match the new dining room chairs
5.  New carpet

Hmm.... why do I have the feeling that I am going to get a Lowe's gift card?

Not ready

I was ready for sitting up.

I was ready for walking.

I was ready for talking.

I was even ready for temper tantrums.

I was NOT ready for her to start climbing out of the crib.

I am not ready for her to be in a regular bed.

Why can't my baby stay in the baby bed?

Checkup News

Maggie has survived her 18 month checkup.  She is the 75th percentile for height  and 50th for weight.  Hopefully she'll stay that way- tall and skinny!  He said the runny nose and cough weren't anything to be concerned with and that it was on its' way out.   Kind of felt like I got a brush off so we'll see how the next week goes and then we may be back.

Mags didn't want anything to do with Doc.  We passed him in the hall on the way to the room and she started wailing!  Calmed down with the nurse and then when he came in went back to wailing!  Maybe she knew the vaccines were coming.

She is developing normally- has 10+ identifiable words (20+ if you count animal sounds) and is showing her temperment well.  Or should I say temper.  Stubborn would be one good way to put it.  My mom says they disciplined me with a 2x4, I have a feeling Maggie is going to need a 6x6.

On a side note- my spell check button has disappeared.  How do I make it come back?

Time flies

Tomorrow is Maggie's 18 month checkup.  Yes, she is almost 18 1/2 months but hey- I work.  They don't do well child checkups after 3:30 most of the time so...

I just hope for two things:
- an answer to the ever present runny noses that is now attached to a cough and me getting no sleep

and

- a solution to the continual prescences of yeast diaper rash.  (They are probably tired of us calling and asking for refills too!)

Pitiful Blogger

Since meeting Dana and entering the world of blogging, I am continually amazed at what is out there.  Some nights, when I have a minute, I love checking out the people linked to those I know.  I have cried and laughed and fallen in love with people I have never met.  Sometimes I leave messages and comments, most of the time not.  I guess that makes me one of those voyer people.  However,  after reading so many of them I feel so inadequate to leave a comment.

I am lucky.  My family is healthy, we have good jobs, and a terrific support system.  I am confident in who I am and where I want to go.  Sure there are things I want to improve about myself but I am fighting no major internal battles.  I read about people struggling with a variety of illnesses both themselves or their children, families that have lost jobs, and the such- I feel that I have no right to give advice.  I don't know what it is like to be them.

I am not a good writer. I do not conjure up pictures with my words or evoke tears with my thoughts.  I put it simply with as many words as I can spell.  To read through posts, I am continually awed by what is out there.  Mandy who says so much with so few words.  Dana how can make you cry, laugh, and want to argue in a paragraph.  Kristy who cracks me up and makes me smile with every craft posted. Alas, I am not even in the same playing field as these ladies.

So, thanks for reading my pitiful blog.  I will continue to post mudance, for the most part uninspiring items.  :)  Love you guys!

PS- I've lost my spell check button so please excuse any spelling errors- I am sure there are quite a few!

Halloween

Since our neighbor can be a little sketchy sometimes- we crashed Dana's and Maggie went Trick or Treating for the first time!  We did manage to get a few pics of the complete costume but for the most part we went sans hood.

Dana caught this pic before we started out...

My picture before we went to Dana's and Bucky pushing our crusin' Tiger.

We even had Trick-or-Treat PJ's for afterwards!  (Thanks Grandma!)

I just want you to look at the hair in this picture.  Those curls are not from me- mine is NO where near that- check out the ringlet at her neck.  Her hair probably reaches past her shoulders when it is wet and straight.  You would never know that looking at these.  Her hair has filled in tons in the past year but we still look like a little one because it has yet to cover her head and it appears as if there is next to none.

On a side note- anyone want to become the contact person for the future when I don't know what to do with that mass of curls?
